I’d rather be an angry patriot than a fake nationalist: Richa Chadda


Richa Chadda who is known to speak out when something bothers her, took to Twitter to talk about the unsettling events that occurred at Elphinstone Railway station on Friday.

A stampede among commuters on a bridge connecting the Elphinstone station with Parel station led to 27 people losing their lives and 60 others injured. The incident happened at around 9.30am on Friday. The injured have been rushed to the KEM hospital.

Richa who was shaken by the news tweeted, “I’d rather be an angry patriot than a fake nationalist…and demand more from our elected representatives, who are public servants, NOT RULERS”

The actress asked for Who is accountable for all the deaths? since we lose more ppl in local train mishaps annually in Mumbai alone,(1500) than we do to terrorism.

She further tweeted, “In India, we get NO BENEFITS of the high http://taxation. Life is cheap whether it’s babies in Gorakhpur or ppl at #Elphinstone. Tragic.”

Richa Chadda will be seen in ‘Jia Aur Jia’ directed by Howard Rosemeyer, with Kalki Koechlin.
