Bhumi Pednekar And Ayushmann Khurrana Condemn Gauri Lankesh Murder


Bhumi Pednekar strongly condemn the killing of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, who was gunned down outside her residence in west Bengaluru by an unidentified assailant, stating that it is sad and ridiculous especially in Democracy.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar paid a surprise visit to a city theater to interact with fans during the screening of “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” and talked about the recent incident which has shocked the nation.
“I think it is really sad, in fact when I heard it, I literally got a shiver down my spine because somebody has an audacity to enter your house and shoot you just because you stand by certain views; it is just ridiculous. We’re a democracy but I have full faith in our laws and I am sure they will get her the justice” said Bhumi.
Ayushmann Khurrana also condemned the incident, especially in India, where journalism is considered the fourth pillar of the nation.
He said, “If something like this is happening in 2017, I think nothing could be worse. Journalism is considered the fourth pillar of our nation, and something like this is happening with it, I think it is really unfortunate. As a country, we should stand up we should stand up to this”
Bhumi and Ayushmann, the cute duo interacted with fans and took over the popcorn counter. They served tea and biscuits along with other savouries to the people who came to watch the film.
Directed by R.S. Prasanna and produced by Aanand L Rai, the movie Shubh Mangal Savdhan is a remake of director’s own Tamil Movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham. The Hindi version is running successfully in cinemas.
