Ajay Devgan who is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Baadshaho’ in an interview on Tuesday said, if one film didn’t work you can’t ask for a refund.
Salamn Khan’s recent film ‘Tubelight’ did not fare well on box office, due to the loss faced by the distributors the actor and producer agreed to refund for the losses, when asked about the same Ajay Devgn said, “On humanity grounds, if anybody wants to refund its fine, technically nobody can ask. If I have earned something and you have not I will be happy to share. But if you see technically there are two ways of buying films, MG (Minimum Guarantee) and there is Advance. Some distributors buy films in advance. It means if they pay 10 crores in advance for the film and if the film does not recover that much then it has to be paid back how much ever the loss is. Otherwise, if MG that means you bought my film at 10 crores on a minimum guarantee that means you bought the film then you can’t technically ask money back.
They are just requesting based on their relationship they have. It’s not ok to hold a super star responsible when they made 100 crores on Salman’s films that time they didn’t say I will give you back some of the extra money I made. Business is Business it has to be fair. Just because one film didn’t work you can’t ask for a refund, what about the other films that worked on box office.”
While Ajay Devgan has worked in many two hero films with Aamir, Salman, Akshay, Emraan why aren’t there anymore Two Hero films, when asked to comment on the same he said, “I wonder why, I think budget also is a concern. But I am sure our generation of actors don’t mind, I can’t speak for the new generation. In fact, we keep discussing about doing films together if we find scripts. Salman and I have spoken about making a collaboration of ‘Singham-Dabangg’ but we should get the script that justifies the stories. If we get a script we will definitely do that.”
Ajay was last seen in ‘Shivaay’ directed and produced by himself. His future project includes a multi starrer, ‘Golmaal Again’ directed by Rohit Shetty with Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Neil Nitin Mukesh and many more.
Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Baadshaho’, directed by Milan Luthria will be released on 1st September 2017.
