Saif Ali khan who is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Chef’ was present at the Trailer launch on Thursday. During media interaction he spoke about his the delay in the release of ‘Kalakandi’, FCAT (Film Certification Appellate Tribunal) is a magical place, where movies come out with no or fewer cuts.

The actor is also gearing up for another release titled, ‘Kalakandi’ the film’s release has been delayed due to receiving 73 cuts by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification), when asked about the same and if it is relief knowing that the chairman is now Prasoon Joshi, Saif said, “The film release hasn’t stopped that would be the wrong term, it is in the process. There is another association called FCAT where other films that have received lots of cuts had gone and came out with no cuts or fewer cuts, it is a magical place. So we are hoping we will get few cuts because it’s a lovely film. The teaser is out the trailer will be out after we know what the final cut is. I am hopeful that CBFC will change with the new chairman but let’s see what happens.”

The Race 2 actor was asked about the 3rd film in the franchise and the buzz around new casting of Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez to which Saif said, “Actually Ramesh (producer) had told me about this last year that he wants to make a new film in the franchise-Race 3 and wanted to take up a new cast, I love Rameshji and who better than Salman Khan and I wish them both very good luck.”

‘Chef’ is inspired by the 2014’s same titled film directed by Jon Favreau, starring Robert Downey, Jr., Jon Favreau, Sofia Vergara. The makers have made necessary changes to Indianize the story; the star cast includes Saif Ali Khan, Padmapriya, Svar Kamble, Dhanish Karthik, Dinesh Prabhakar, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Canadian comedian and actor Russell Peters.

Saif Ali khan was last seen in ‘Rangoon’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj in 2017, co starring Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor. His future releases include Akshat Verma’s ‘Kaalakandi’ which is a black comedy and a Netflix Original series, ‘Sacred Games’.

Chef presented by T-series will release on 6th October 2017.
