Casting Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar was unanimous – RS Prasanna

Director RS Prasanna is gearing up with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan — the Hindi remake of the Tamil film says casting Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar has been unanimous decision.
Ayushmann Khuranna and Bhumi Pednekar were paired in “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” and now the duo is coming for a social-message oriented comedy drama “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” and director of the film, Prasanna is just praises for the popular Jodi.
“Ayushmann and Bhumi, they are director’s delight. Both of them, on-screen and off-screen, they are fantastic to work with and I think I am huge fan of both, since Dum Laga Ke Haisha”
“It was a unanimous choice to have them in the film. I think for me, it was love at first sight, when I met them” says RS Prasanna.
The movie deals with sensitive issue of Male-Erectile-Dysfunction through the landscape of urban middle class family wedding. Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar plays a newly-engaged couple dealing with the issue in the film.
Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the role of Sugandha in the film, hails it as a love story with social message, which has been dealt with sensitivity.
“I’d like to say that this is Sugandha’s sweet love story. We are also discussing the sensitive issue of male-erectile-dysfunction and how as couple (Ayushmann-Bhumi in film) overcome that issue. It is such a huge taboo in our society that people make fun of boys, who are suffering from it. They are called impotent in society, but there is nothing like that in our film. And we are handling it very sensitively in our film” says Bhumi.
The movie is produced by Aanand L Rai and Krishika Lulla. It is slated for 1st September 2017 release.
