Actor Nawazuddin Siddqui along with his leading lady of Bidita Bag from his upcoming film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz attended ‘Umang’ – Mumbai’s one of the prestigious youth festival on Monday in Mumbai. While addressing the young crowd, Nawazuddin said, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz will break typical norms of heroism which existing in the film industry.
Talking about his film, Nawazuddin said, “It’s a basically love story. From the trailers, it doesn’t look like a love story and by seeing me also no one can imagine that I will feature in a love story but from many years, I wanted to do a love story but I wasn’t getting opportunity to work in love story so when I got the chance to work in it then I had really great time playing my character in this film. I feel this film will break typical norms of heroism that is existing in the film industry”
When asked Nawazuddin, whether he had this swag which he portrayed in this film, he said, “I already had swag in my personality but it took time to come out from my personality which I tried to portray through my character.”
When asked Nawazuddin whether his character Babumoshai is similar to his real life personality, Nawazuddin said, “I am nowhere close to this character. He is very shameless and romeo type of person, The way he looks at females, I don’t see females in real life. I respect female a lot in my life.”
“In real life, I am bit confused human being. I don’t have starry tantrums like other actors. I try to act like that but I am not able to do that. I am not saying I am different from other actors but I feel I am comfortable in my own screen”
Nwazuddin also talked about his experience working with Bidita Bag, he said, “I had very nice experience working with Bidita in this film. This film is her first commercial film as a lead actress. Both, me and Bidita were initially scared to do intimate scenes onscreen as I never had experience of doing it but I am thankful to Bidita that she made comfortable while shooting of this film”.
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz filled with humor and romance, is a quirky ride into the life and times of a small time contract killer, Babu, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film spins around his love, his friends, his rivalries and his revenge. It is directed by Kushan Nandy.
CBFC has earlier ordered 48 cuts in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz for showing adult content in the film.
Recently, The Film Certificate Appellate Tribunal, also known as the Tribunal which viewed Kushan Nandy’s controversial Babumoshai Bandookbaaz earlier this week, has reserved its decision on the film until further notice.
It is scheduled to release on 25 August in theaters.
