On Wednesday, Yami Gautam was presented with the Indian Chamber of Commerce women’s achievement award in recognition to her contribution for Indian cinema. She there spoke to reporters about her future film projects.
Yami said, “You will hear something very soon, after Kaabil came Sarkar 3 and then I took a quick holiday with my Family. I just came back and now will sign something very soon.”
The Kaabil actress spoke about how she felt about the award, “It’s a great honor for me to be on a women’s achiever platform and it means a lot to me personally. I am thankful to ICC and everyone I have worked with so far.”
“An honor like this gives a lot of encouragement, to work harder and achieve more.” Yami added further.
Yami Gautam, also spoke about her support for the victims of Ambarnath , “It’s not Just India, Humanity is for Ambarnath. We all stand in support. This incident is beyond imagination that at such a peaceful place something like this could happen. I don’t have words for this and I think I won’t be able to express how I feel in a few words. Terrorism is a disease, not just for a country but for our entire race. I hope that some actions are taken, and I am sure our government is working hard to make things better and help.”
When reporters asked Yami Gautam to speak about Ambarnath and her support for the victims, she requested reporters, “Whenever asking about a serious or a painful incident, please address such issues separately or in the beginning. It feels unethical to talk about such painful and tragic incidents while we are laughing and talking about something else and simple. It’s a huge tragedy and should be handled with a bit of sensitivity.”
Yami Gautam appeared on the silver screen in Kabil opposite Hritik Roshan and in Sarkar 3 as Annu Karkare with Amit Sadh in 2017. The actress is looking forward to her future projects which will be announced soon.
