A complaint was on Tuesday recorded against performing artist Om Puri for supposedly affronting Indian fighters in a late network show.
The protest was documented by the president of a nearby association in Andheri police headquarters, police said.
A TV channel had called Puri to join an open deliberation about the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association’s (IMPPA) uncertain restriction on Pakistani craftsmen from working in Indian tasks after the Uri assault.
The protest affirmed that amid the dialog, Puri said, “Who had requested that fighters join the armed force? Who instructed them to pick the weapons?,” police said.
The complainant likewise claimed that the on-screen character had offended the Indian Army and the country and requested to enroll a FIR against him for subversion under segment 124 (An) of the IPC, police said.
“We have gotten an application (grumbling) from a man against Om Puri. Mumbai police are asking the matter. Further move will be made in light of the test”, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe.
