Anupam Kher’s speech at The Telegraph National Debate 5th Mar’2016

The Pro BJP actor Anupam Kher seems to have gone at it about the whole buzz regarding the tolerance and intolerance debate. Being one of the panelists at the Telegraph National Debate 2016, the actor literally owned the moment with his powerful and impacting speech.

He pointed out all the problems that are being faced by the country and how the opposition has a hand in this imbalance of views thanks to the unnecessary “marketing” of tolerance and intolerance debate. He also accused the opposition of creating the whole tolerance fervour and pointed out that due to lack of issues to raise, they are promoting this debate.

The topic of debate decided by the team was Tolerance is the new Intolerance. The panel that consisted of Suhel Seth, the actor Kajol and the actor Anupam Kher speaking for the motion and speaking against: Justice Asok Ganguly, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala and Barkha Dutt, journalist and TV anchor; moderating the debate is Mukul Kesavan, writer and historian.

While Kajol’s speech fell flat and in fact, not many could relate to it as she herself didn’t give anything important to ponder over. Anupam Kher waltzed in with his speech about Modi jai jai and held the Congress for being the reason behind all the troubles the country is currently facing. The stage had literally become a platform to voice political agendas which seems to have been ignored.
