We are still in awe of Kangana Ranaut’s outstanding performance as Tanu and Datto in the latest release, Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The actress sure has redefined the term double roles with her brilliant handling of the two contrasting characters. Two fantabulous Kangana Ranauts at the price of one ticket – spending money on such cinema is totally worth it! On that note, we take a look at some of the upcoming double roles in Bollywood!
- Shah Rukh Khan in Fan
We have seen the King Khan in dual roles in Duplicate, Don, Paheli and Om Shanti Om previously. The actor is all set to play double roles in his next, Maneesh Sharma’s Fan. SRK will be essaying himself as one character and a crazy fan of himself as the other, in the drama, produced by Aditya Chopra. Newbie Waluscha De Sousa will be seen opposite Khan in Fan. The film is set for a 2016 release.
Like SRK, double roles is not a fresh take for Salman also. He has floored us with his Prem and Raja acts in David Dhawan’s 1997 action comedy, Judwaa. Filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya brings Khan back in dual roles on the silver screen, with his next, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Salman will play a royal prince as well as a common man in the film. Sonam Kapoor has been cast as his leading lady in PRDP, slated to open in cinema halls on 11th November 2015.
Shahid Kapoor in Kaminey 2
As Charlie and Guddu, Shahid gave us a great time at the cinemas with his 2009 caper thriller, Kaminey. Well, reports suggest that Vishal Bhardwaj is set to bring the twin brothers in the film’s sequel. Reportedly, the director has created a ground-breaking re-interpretation of the high-voltage track, Dhan Te Nan. Grapevine also has it that Kaminey 2 will be a romantic fare.
Sunny Leone in Mastizaade
Milap Zaveri’s $ex comedy, Mastizaade, has the Tinsel Town temptress Sunny Leone in dual roles. The hottie plays twins in the film and will be called Laila and Lily. The two Sunny Leones have been cast opposite Vir Das and Tusshar Kapoor. While the film was initially scheduled to release on 1st May 2015, it has been kept on hold, as the Censor Board has some major objections to its sexual content.
