La La Land was declared as the best film at the 2017 Oscars on Sunday night – yet then needed to hand the honor over to Moonlight after a misstep was seen in what was the most emotional crossroads in the historical backdrop of the Academy Awards.

"There's an error. Moonlight, you won best picture," Jordan Horowitz, La Land maker, reported to the pants of a stunned group. He held up the card plainly demonstrating the victor was Moonlight.
