The 4th Delhi film festival is just round the corner and with Amir khan’s Intolerance comment being a debate in the country, many bigwigs from the industry have returned their awards back in support of him and following the same path is a director across the borders.
Khalid Hasan, the Pakistani director who won the award last year in the 3rd Delhi film festival for his feature film ‘Hotal’, is adding to the award return bandwagon. Commenting on the situation, Ram Kishore Parcha, the founder president of DIFF felt insulted and said “This is very insulting. Whatever is the situation in our country, we will deal with it, who are you? We have awarded you because you have done good work, returning an award is an insult. It means we have taken a wrong decision in awarding you”.
“Now we have taken a decision to not screen any of the Pakistani films in the 4th Delhi Film Festival. We had honored him for his work but returning the award for supporting someone is completely non-acceptable” he added.
The 4th DIFF is scheduled to start from 5th December to 10th December.
