Shashi Kapoor has been named for the prestigious “Dada Saheb Phalke Award”

[rating=5] The 77 years old who known for his outstanding acting in the movies like like ‘Jab Jab Phool Khile’, ‘Deewar’ and ‘Kabhi Kabhie’ has been named for the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award he will be the 62nd recipient of the prestigious award.

He came into the industry at the age of four when he use to perform in play directed by his father Prithviraj Kapoor.

He acted in 160 movies including 12 English movies, however he had never got the best actor award during his carrer. He was also honored with the Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in the year 2011.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema, comprises a Swarn Kamal (Golden Lotus), a shawl, and a cash prize of Rs.10,00,000. The award was conferred on eminent lyricist Gulzar last year.
